Anderson Cove Campground in Huntsville, UT
Huntsville, UT is about 45 miles from downtown Salt Lake City. Anderson Cover gives you the opportunity to hang out in the water, or stay by the shore side and activities all around. It offers water skiing, canoeing, and kayaking. For those who want to stay dry, you can watch the boaters, have a nice picnic, and enjoy a few rounds of volleyball. Not only can you enjoy some boating on the water, but you’re actually able to swim at the campground, which is something hard to find at most campgrounds. There’s also plenty of walking and hiking available. Another perk of this campground is that it has a general store, drinking water, and vault toilets nearby for convenience. This campground is a favorite, so make sure you reserve a spot before your desired camping dates.
Whiting Campground in Mantua, UT
Mantua is about 62 miles away from downtown Salt Lake City. Whiting Campground is a great place to unwind. And if you have friends with horses, it’s a great place to have some equine therapy and go horseback riding and it’s a safe place to keep your houses. The campground is run on a first come first serve basis, but there are a few sites that can be reserved. It’s good to call ahead just to check. There is also drinking water, toilets, and fire rings at this campsite.
Monte Cristo Campground in Woodruff, UT
About 160 miles from Salt Lake City is Woodruff. If you’re looking for an escape, this is the perfect place, just far enough away but not too far. Monte Cristo campground is known for its stunning beauty, and camping there is an incredibly calming and relaxing experience. The campground is filled with hiking trails, hunting spots, picnic areas, and plenty of wildlife. The campground provides grills, toilets, fire pits, and drinking water.
