Introducing the Recovery Ways Training Academy: Empowering Behavioral Health Professionals Through Continuing Education
We are excited to announce the launch of the Recovery Ways Training Academy, a dedicated initiative designed to support and enhance the professional development of licensed behavioral health professionals. Led by licensed, caring, and industry-leading experts—certified through recognized professional associations—the Training Academy offers Continuing Education Unit (CEU) trainings on a wide range of critical topics.
Our in-person and virtual CEU offerings include subjects such as sensory modulation, polyvagal theory integration, suicidality, ethics, and more. These trainings are designed to build skills, foster understanding, and strengthen the mental health and recovery professional communities in Salt Lake City, UT, and virtual communities across the country. These events provide not only an opportunity to deepen knowledge but also a platform for networking and collaboration among professionals dedicated to making a difference in mental health and recovery.

BIOS:
Stormy has worked for over a decade in the field of mental health as an occupational therapist with a specialty in sensory processing. Her background includes working in school-based settings, sensory integration, clinical/private practices, hospital setting with complex medical conditions, mental health clinics for children, residential treatment centers for adolescents, and residential treatment centers for substance abuse rehabilitation.
Stormy lectures to mental health clinicians and educators at conferences, CEU events, and universities. She most recently launched an online training program for clinicians that is approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as the National Association of Social Workers.
A main focus for Stormy is to provide design and implementation of sensory rooms, staff training, education, and life skills program design for substance abuse/dual diagnosis treatment centers. She has a BA from Duke University, her medical doctorate from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and her MS in Occupational Therapy from University of Southern California with an emphasis in pediatrics and sensory integration.

Linda Terry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and Certified Trauma Professional holding multi-state licensure. A graduate of the University of San Francisco she is currently an Adjunct Professor in their Counseling Psychology program. Linda has spent her career in the field of Addiction & Mental Health Treatment as a Clinical Director at several facilities before stepping into the clinical leadership role at Recovery Ways. Her clinical work has focused on the importance of connection and community in healing, and she is often invited to speak nationally on these topics. A Florida native, Linda is a Red Cross volunteer for crisis response and has traveled the country to facilitate community healing in the face of natural disasters. At Recovery Ways she deftly utilizes her experiences to create vibrant programming and to foster the growth of confident and caring clinicians. Keenly aware of the need to expand access to Mental Health and Addiction treatment, Linda has been instrumental in the creation and expansion of Recovery Ways’ virtual programs.

Blair is a LCSW with a passion for grounding therapeutic work through the mind-body connection. Having earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2022, Blair began her career as a therapist/case manager on behavioral health units, where she has gained invaluable experience in crisis intervention and emotional regulation. At Recovery Ways, Blair serves on the clinical outreach team with a goal of building community partnerships to enhance the continuum of care for individuals dealing with mental health or substance use difficulties. She is currently undergoing comprehensive training in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy (ISTT), equipping her with innovative tools and techniques to help clients navigate their healing journeys. With this training, her focus has become more defined, with a goal to create safe therapeutic environments that promote healing and resilience across all demographics.
Lexie Haslem ACMHC has five years of experience working with clients facing acute trauma in hospital and residential treatment settings. Lexie is the author of Your Inner Child, a book focused on parts work with a somatic emphasis. Lexie offers a unique blend of therapeutic techniques. Her practice harmonizes inner child work, psychodynamic therapy, somatic experiencing, and spirituality to delve into subconscious patterns, helping clients heal at the root of their struggles. Incorporating mindfulness, sound healing, and Gestalt techniques, Lexie creates a holistic, nurturing environment where clients reconnect with their true selves.
